Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about mastering your Char-Griller experience.
What is the best way to season my new Char-Griller cast iron grates?
Before your first use, coat both sides of the grates with a thin layer of vegetable oil or shortening. Heat your grill to approximately 400°F (200°C) for one hour to create a non-stick protective coating and prevent rust.
How long does shipping take for heavy grills and smokers?
Standard shipping typically takes 5-7 business days. Due to the weight of our smokers, large units are shipped via LTL freight carriers who will contact you to schedule a convenient curbside delivery window.
What is covered under the Char-Griller warranty?
We offer a 5-year warranty on the main grill body (the hood and bottom) against burn-through and rust-through, and a 1-year warranty on all other parts and accessories from the date of purchase.
Can I use both charcoal and propane in the same grill?
Only our specific Dual-Fuel or Triple-Play models are designed to utilize both charcoal and gas. We do not recommend using charcoal in a dedicated gas grill as it can damage the burners and void your warranty.
What is your return policy for unused products?
You can return any unused, unassembled grill in its original packaging within 30 days of purchase. Please note that customers are responsible for return freight costs due to the size and weight of the items.
How do I prevent my smoker from rusting over time?
Regular maintenance is key. Keep your grill covered when not in use, clean out ash after every cook (as ash traps moisture), and periodically re-season the exterior with a light coat of high-heat oil.
